Today we had a super sports day where everyone had fun participating in the different activities along the day. Great Work KAZAKHSTAN !!!
Today started our celebrations with an assembly for the whole school and then we played WHO IS TELLING THE TRUTH with 3rd-5th graders. It was a lot of fun!! In LA the students are showing a lot of creativity into making their board games interesting and fun to play.
This week the students made a DOMINO game of synonyms and antonyms. They had a lot of fun playing and exchanging their games with the rest of the class.
The students showed a lot of interest at the presentation about El Niño, natural phenomenon, given by the teacher Hugo Lopez (secondary school). They learnt about the most important causes and effects.
The students enjoyed very much playing different board games with their classmates. This was the motivation to make them start planning their own games in Language Arts class.
This week the students demonstrated a lot of enthusiasm and motivation recycling organic waste to make compost.
This week we worked in Math Centers where the students had the opportunity to identify and use addition and multiplication properties.
As part of the Action of the Unit Sharing the Planet, a very enthusiastic group of 4th grade students decided to organize a campaign to collect organic waste to make compost. They formed a team and organized themselves to start advertising the campaign in Pre-Kinder, Kinder and Primary and to ask the students to recycle the fruit peels and cores they bring in their lunchboxes. A lot of students of the different grades became very involved and not only did they recycle the organic waste from the fruits they brought for snack but also recycled at home and brought it to school to be used for composting. This compost is going to be used for conditioning and fertilizing the soil around the school and in the ecological park. It is wonderful to see how the students are conscious of the need to recycle and are more aware of the importance of taking care of the planet.
The students listened attentively to a talk given by a secondary school teacher, Hugo Lopez, about Natural Disasters, more specifically about Hurricanes and Tornadoes. It was very interesting!
